ISOCON Inaugural Conference 1992 Chennai
The inauguration of the Indian Society of Otology was held on 7th and 8th November 1992 at Chennai. Dr. John Shea of Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.A., the Father of Stapes Surgery inaugurated the Indian Society of Otology. The other foreign guests were Dr. Andre A. Sutan of Paris, France, Dr. Christian Deguine- France, Dr. Edgar Depaepe-Belgium and Dr. Ronald E. Gristwood-Adelide,
Australia. On the 9th and 10th of November there was live ear surgery demonstration by Dr. Jonh J. Shea at Railway Hospital, Perambur, Chennai. About 450 delegates attended the inauguration, the first annual conference and Live Ear Surgery demonstration. |

The 2nd annual conference was held at Chennai on 20th and 21st November 1993. Only Indian faculty took part, there was no live surgery demonstration-only CME programme and panel discussions were held.

The 3rd annual conference was held at Mumbai from 2nd to 4th January 1994. The guest speakers were Dr.Richard Ramsden of U.K. and Dr. Robert Jackler of USA. The conference was held in grand style and members of ISO and also other delegates who attended the conference had the opportunity of being exposed to a feast of live surgical demonstrations by renowned Indian and foreign Surgeons.
